I am happy to entertain offers of speaking engagements at museums, universities, literary festivals, writing conferences, teachers conferences, and charitable organizations. I can focus on one of my books or featured artists, or I can give an overview of all of my art-related fiction. A presentation on my most recent book, Lisette's List, can be accompanied by a power point program of artwork related to the novel, with a prelude and postlude of French period music mentioned in the novel. I'm also happy to develop special presentations on topics of our mutual agreement.
For writers conferences and universities, I propose craft talks on these subjects:
-
The Writing of Fiction, stressing Character Development, Voice, and Revision.
-
The Writing of Historical Fiction.
-
Re-visioning Your Fiction, consisting of twenty-five strategies to employ in the early, middle, and late stages of manuscript development.
-
Ekphrasis: Art as Muse, encompassing a survey of ways art is used in literature, and a power point presentation of suitable art for writing inspiration.
